"I lost a bet."
With more than a dozen candidates already vying for the driver's seat in the 2016 Republican clown car, today New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will hop
on board the Bozo Express and:
When New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie enters the race for president this week, he'll do so as an underdog.
That's putting it mildly. Even nut-jobs like Donald Trump and Mike Huckabee are
polling better than Christie. But Christie's team is "embracing" the underdog role and say that his "charismatic personality, quick wit and plain-spoken manner" will win him the nomination. And besides, they insist:
"The worst position to be in is that of the media-anointed front-runner."
Well, sure. It's much better to be running somewhere around ninth place. (Which, if you're a glass-half-full kind of person, does make it easier to embrace being an underdog.)
