And the Lord sayeth "No gays allowed in your hardware stores"
Amyx Hardware in Grainger County, Tennessee is your normal, run-of-the-mill hardware store. The owner of the store is Jeff Amyx. Jeff does not like the homosexual lifestyle. He is not happy about the Supreme Court's ruling. Jeff, by his own admission is
"a very blunt person."
Phones at Amyx Hardware have been ringing non-stop after he posted a sign reading “No Gays Allowed” outside of his store in Washburn. “A lot of people have called me and congratulated me,” said owner Jeff Amyx. But other calls are on the other side of spectrum. “People calling and threatening me. Telling me I would regret this. No I’ll never regret this,” said Amyx.
Here's the original sign.
But Jeff has a braintrust behind him who have cautioned using honey to get flies. Gay flies? Religious flies? As a result, Amyx changed his sign!
New sign
Oh blarg.
But Amyx wants to make sure one thing is clear, “I don’t hate people. It’s not the people I hate, it’s the sin that I hate.” He simply asks for respect, which in turn he says he’ll show if a customer is homosexual. “Well I might preach to you a little while,” said Amyx.
I don't know if I get his stance anymore.
