Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach was recently given the power to prosecute cases of voter fraud. With his office empowered to do something no other Secretary of State in the country can do -- prosecute cases -- Sec. of State Kobach is now on the lookout.
The Kansas Republican has long argued that voter fraud is a significant problem and that the federal government and local prosecutors seem disinterested in doing the right thing on voter fraud cases.
This was immediately rebuffed federal prosecutors, however.

[I]n a Nov. 6 letter sent from Grissom to Kobach and obtained by The Associated Press through an open records request, the prosecutor responded that his office received no such referrals from Kobach, and chided the secretary of state for his statements.
“Going forward, if your office determines there has been an act of voter fraud please forward the matter to me for investigation and prosecution,” Grissom wrote. “Until then, so we can avoid misstatements of facts for the future, for the record, we have received no voter fraud cases from your office in over four and a half years. And, I can assure you, I do know what I’m talking about.”
Now, with the power to prosecute, Secretary of State Kobach needs to actually prosecute someone to prove his point, that cases of voter fraud do occur and that he is the man to stop those hooligans who are out to harm democracy.
Today, The Secretary of State office revealed a new website, encouraging Kansans to turn other Kansans in for committing voter fraud.

The website alerts Kansans to the dangers of voter fraud with this warning:
The Kansas Secretary of State's office administers elections at the national and state level for the state of Kansas. In order to ensure that Kansas elections are among the most secure in the nation, we must safeguard our voting process. Election and voter fraud undermines the precious right of each citizen to be heard at the ballot box. Each step of the process must conform to the law, from voter registration to casting votes to counting ballots and certifying results.
If you witness suspicious activity related to an election, please report it by filling out the Stop Voter Fraud form at the link below. Your information will be forwarded directly to the Kansas Secretary of State's Elections Division. Or call our Stop Voter Fraud hotline at 800-262-8683. An elections investigator may contact you for additional information.
The Secretary of State's office has opened up a toll free hotline and will begin investigation into cases they hope to prosecute.
Many voice concern that even the investigative process could be manipulated in order to scare groups away from registering new voters.
So far, Kansas has not found an actual case to prosecute of voter fraud. Kris Kobach, however, is prepared to prove that was only because he wasn't the one prosecuting and researching the cases. Phone lines are now open.
