This diary is almost entirely a quote. The game Bioshock Infinitecame out two years ago and went about mocking/illuminating the rampant racism and xenophobia America was undergoing at the turn of the 20th century, but why do I feel like modern day Republicans would still almost completely agree with these lyrics?
When the foreign hordes come marching into town,
will you be prepared to stand those buggers down?
They'll do their level best to take all that's rightly yours,
and it's your sole duty to keep them from our shores!
The readiness is all!
When the greenhorn muscles in!
Oh, the readiness is all!
To [put down] an alien!
[If all] you see around you are yellow, black, and brown (might start as "before you see")
[and the] copper [sites] on the all the fields [with what] goes in your town,
co_ck your pistols, load your cannon, make sure bayonets are fixed,
or else you'll rue the day the race is intermixed!
The readiness is all!
There are strangers in our land!
Oh, the readiness is all!
We will seize the upper hand!
The readiness is all!
When your back's against the wall!
Oh, the readiness is all!
*When you should be standing tall!
Literally, on Facebook today, I told my friends that FOX News might as well change it's tagline to "We only want racist white people to watch."
