Today wraps up the annual Calgary Stampede, a world-famous rodeo, which is also an exhibition and regional fair. I thought about writing up the Stampede this evening, but I need to collect my thoughts about the unfortunate deaths of three horses this year. Horses having to be put down due to injuries in the name of entertainment are all too frequent at this annual event.
Instead, and on a much lighter note, we will take a trip to the Calgary Zoo.

Orange croissants may be an endangered species, with DK5 to be rolled out later this year. Grab one now while you can, and munch while viewing the photos. Enjoy.
From the Calgary Zoo wiki:
The Calgary Zoo is the second largest zoo in Canada and in 2012 and 2014 was the nation's most visited zoo. In 2014, it was named by TripAdvisor as Canada's top zoo and it has received international recognition as one of the top zoos in the world for conservation research. In 2013, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums said "the Calgary Zoo sets itself apart as one of the top zoos in the world." In 2015 the zoo was named one of the top three most respected organizations in Alberta and one of Alberta's 10 most beloved brands.
The zoo is well stocked with wildlife of different continents, flowers, trees, butterflies, and so on. There's also a collection of dinosaurs, and they're not even fenced in! In short, plenty to see and photograph.
