It seems that Fox News reporters have been pretty much stalking members of the Board of Supervisors in San Francisco in the wake of the murder of Kathryn Steinle by an undocumented immigrant. They apparently saw this as an opportunity to blame the incident on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for making San Francisco a "sanctuary city." San Francisco does not actively seek to deport undocumented immigrants. Follow me below the fold to find out what one San Francisco Supervisor thinks about it.

When one of Fox New's reporters finally got to and ambushed Supervisor Scott Wiener, he decided not to play the game. He simply told the reporter that "Fox News is not real news" and that he only "talks to real news reporters." As the supervisor says, Fox News is trying to "take advantage of a horrific crime to bash immigrants.”
From Think Progress:
Scott Wiener, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, knew Fox News was lurking.
“They’ve been stalking various members of the board of supervisors for the last week. They went to someone’s home. One of my colleagues said they were following her around in her district last week,” Wiener told ThinkProgress in a phone interview.
When Fox News finally ambushed him in the hallway, Wiener knew what he was going to do. He didn’t want to answer the questions because he knew Fox News was not going to make a good faith effort to cover the issue. He didn’t want to just duck his head and hide, because he knew how that looked on TV. So he addressed Fox News directly: “Fox News is not real news. And you’re not a real reporter.”
This short clip has made Wiener a hero in his city. The response in San Francisco has been “overwhelmingly and enthusiastically positive. People are thrilled.
Response from Fox News fans has been less positive. His social media feed has been flooded with “really extreme fringe hateful” posts. His office voicemail is also filled to capacity.
Supervisor Wiener will be running for the state senate representing California's district 11 in 2016.
From SFGate:
San Francisco Supervisor Scott Wiener became a local hero when he shut the door in the face of a Fox News reporter who was trying to talk to him about the Pier 14 killing of Kathryn Steinle, telling him, “Fox News is not real news, and you’re not a reporter.”
It won’t win him any points with the Tea Party, but then, the Tea Party doesn’t account for a lot of votes in San Francisco. Wiener has his eyes set on the state Senate, and publicity like this is gold.

twingrace shares her own story on the impact of patriarchy and fundamentalism in her marriage in this comment in my diary today on "In the 167 years since Seneca Falls, how far have women come?"

John in Cleavland started this comment-thread in James321 giddy-making (to me!) diary about Bernie's Town Meeting in Phoenix. Dallas Doc chimed in, and it took off and I kept grinning.
In Lysis' graceful and insightful diary about Bernie's response to #BLM, DallasDoc kicked this thread off with this comment. I followed it with delight; those who commented showed that we are on the same side and we can demonstrate this with our behavior!
