Those pesky black people, who only take and never give. I've got news for the party of racism.
I feel compelled to write a short diary about a fantastic morning in Texarkana, Texas.
My 11 year old granddaughter spent the last three weeks with me. Her mother, my oldest, decided to ride Amtrak to come pick her up. She boarded the train in Texas, at 11:30 a.m. and arrived in Texarkana at 8:30 p.m. This was planned as an adventure for she and S__.
Alas, it was not to be. Her bag was stolen on the trip. She had everything valuable in it. I-Pad, money, phone, etc.
Their return trip was scheduled for this morning. The train was leaving Texarkana at 6:00 a.m. I live 3 hours from Texarkana.
We got up at 2:30 a.m. and jumped in the truck and left.
When we arrived at the station, I realized I didn't have my purse. C_had no money and what I was going to give her was in my purse in my house. I do not recall leaving my purse behind ever.
The DK gremlin is responsible for the italic change. :)
The train turned out to be 1 hour and 47 minutes late. So, we sat down to wait.
We had exchanged greetings with 4 people who were also waiting for the train. After 15 minutes or so, they decided to go to Burger King and get food. One of the gentlemen asked us if we would like to have something picked up. We didn't have money and explained what happened with C_'s bag and my purse. He said "no problem, how about we just bring you breakfast and coffee?" They left for BK.
In about 15 minutes, they returned with a huge bag of food for us. Two coffees and a juice for S___.
I know this will be hard for Republicans to swallow if they hear about the generosity one family had for another.
