Hillary's climate/energy plan is just an observation of what is happening in the phasing out of solar energy. Installation of half a billion solar panels in 8 years will happen without her because that is the trend of the exponential growth of solar in US. Yep, solar is happening that fast without her, and if she is elected she will take credit.
Because of the exponential growth of solar, the costs are going down rapidly and will be available to most in US
In fact, the solar revolution is happening in spite of Hillary. Hillary has
promoted natural gas/
fracking world wide which has been responsible for taking a lot of
investment away from renewable energy. But the benefits of solar, especially, have helped to sprint growth in spite of natural gas/fracking which has its own massive environmental problems.
Sure, solar, wind and geo-thermal must be the energy of the future but a real climate plan that would actually stop or slow some of the worst effects of climate change must have other components.
We must stop oil and gas exploration. Building out a clean energy platform while also adding more fossil fuel to the mix is like taking one foot forward and one foot back. It will not slow greenhouse gas emissions fast enough to prevent catastrophic climate change. Ban fracking
We must stop disastrous trade agreements like the TPP which will nullify environmental regulations if they interfere with corporate profits. Waiting for your position on TPP, Hillary.
We must stop building pipelines like the Keystone XL pipeline. That just builds in infrastructure support for dirty fuel. Let us know your position on Keystone, Hillary
Subsidies for fossil fuel must stop and candidates need to refuse campaign money from the oil and gas industry. Hillary I'm talking to you.
We must reform our agriculture industry, which is a major contributor to climate change and de-industrialize to prevent the mono-culture of crops which has depleted our top soil.
Stop support to Monsanto, Hillary.
Transportation must be transitioned to clean energy with emphasis on super efficient public transportation such as green high speed trains
