As many of you know, the long investigation into Scott Walker's illegal campaign coordination with numerous political action committees, corporations, and billionaire donors was thrown out by the Wisconsin Supreme Court on 16JUL. As you may also know, four of the six votes on the court received millions of dollars in donations from the very individuals who were appealing the investigation. You may ask yourself, "Did the USSC not rule that judges must recuse themselves under such circumstances?" The answer is "Yes, yes they did". A good (and brief) write up of why this decision was unconstitutional can be found at the following link.

I encourage anybody who is concerned with upholding any modicum of justice to contact the five prosecutors (as five counties were involved) and ask that the WISC decision be appealed to the USSC on just those grounds. You can contact these five prosecutors (who are of both party affiliations) at the following addresses (if email doesn't work, fax, phones, and snail mail are equally effective - if not more so):

And, should one feel very motivated, asking the US Department of Justice to investigate (due to the flagrant corruption, tax code violations, and conspiracy to avoid taxes on political contributions - as they claimed they were only intended as PAC contributions, not to help a specific candidate) may also be prudent. They can be contacted at:

Now, some may say that the USSC may not present a good hope of ensuring that justice is served. However, I remind the reader that both Justice Kennedy and Justice Roberts have written majority opinions mandating that judges be held to higher standards (Caperton v. Massey Coal and Williams-Yulee v. Florida Bar, respectively). Granted, Roberts did not concur with Kennedy on the former, the grounds being appealed are wider than just the Caperton v. Massey Coal case and would potentially have a sympathetic ear from both of those two justices.
