Since I'll either be still away from home with limited to no internet access, or on my way back from my house-sitting gig, I'm designating this an “open poetry” day. And since the diaries have been rather serious for awhile, I thought lightening things up a bit might be in order. So, I'll leave you with a silly limerick to get things started, and will check back in late tonight or tomorrow to see what you all have come up with.
Start the fun below the orange squiggly dingbat, and thanks for stopping by!
Kalliope
Means "beautiful voice" from Greek καλλος (kallos) "beauty" and οψ (ops) "voice". In Greek mythology she was a goddess of epic poetry and eloquence, one of the nine Muses.
Join us every Tuesday afternoon at the Daily Kos community political poetry club.
Your own poetry is always welcome in the comments.
Bongos, berets & turtle neck sweaters optional.
The keyboard is mightier than the sword.
There once was a mogul named Donald
Whose ideas were worse than old Ronald's
Caused a fuss in his party
Screams from Repubs quite hearty
As “apprentice,” they'd see him blackballed!
