I talked to Little Shiz via video chat tonight. It was so wonderful! My 15-year-old kid is a living, breathing mix of humor, creativity, intelligence, quirkiness, random observations, awesome sauce, and laziness, all of which you can blame on me. :P
Man, I love her an inordinate amount, but that's neither here nor there.
What i love the most about my child is that she tells it like it is and suffers no fools. She reminds me of ... hmm, me, maybe?
Ha. :)
I have been convinced (more than once) that, if feminism existed in a human body, it would inhabit the spirit of my daughter, Little Shiz. The young woman would rather die than admit to any fault that had to do with her gender, because she's cool and brave and annoying like that.
In honor of Little Shiz, I started watching YouTube videos tonight that I know she loves, from the hit Fox show So You Think You Can Dance. Judge us all you want, but we're still cooler than you. :)
(Little Shiz is, anyway. She informed me several years ago that I am "not cool", to my chagrin. Grr.)
While I was rooting around for awesome vids to find, I came across several articles about Josh Duggar and his wife, Anna. Sadly, I read a few of them, and they alluded to the fact that Anna Duggar would stand by her man, Josh, if for no other reason than ... I don't know, they're both Christians together? She has no sense of shame or something? I don't really get it.
What? What is it? What would make you stay in a relationship where a porn star essentially admitted that the sex was too much, even for her?!
I normally don't judge other peoples' marriages but, when they claim some kind of fucked up moral superiority with regards to LGTBQ relationships, then they can suck it. Josh Duggar, with his adult cheating ways and childhood pedophilia, is not exactly a beacon of innocence.
Weird as it is, this got me thinking about my own daughter. Would she fall for a guy like Josh Duggar? Would she let the guilt and shame overcome her? Would she be embarrassed about being gay? Would she hate herself?
Little Shiz knows that I am supportive of her, no matter what, even if her father does not agree.
But, ya know what? Men and women alike should be scared of my kid. She doesn't give a shit whether or not you support her or honor her or acknowledge her. She'll be the dessert she wants, any way she wants, 24/7!
Booyah!
"Whatcha gon ... whatcha gon ... do with my dessert?"
