President Obama is heading to Alaska tomorrow for a three day working visit to address climate change and other significant issues.
POTUS rocked it today by announcing that he is allowing Interior Secretary Jewell to officially return Alaska's highest peak to the name it is known by most all Alaskans already.

With the approval of President Barack Obama, Interior Secretary Sally Jewell has signed a “secretarial order” to officially change the name, the White House and Interior Department announced Sunday. The announcement comes roughly 24 hours before Obama touches down in Anchorage for a whirlwind tour of Alaska.
Denali is the Koyukon Athabascan name for the mountain.
Jewell’s authority stems from a 1947 federal law that allows her to make changes to geographic names through the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, according to the department.
Alaskans, for the most part, are working overtime to ensure President Obama a safe and positive welcome to their state. Alaska's Governor Bill Walker (who recently by executive order will be expanding Medicaid in Alaska on Sept. 1st) will be accompanying the President on Air Force 1 to Alaska.
While in Alaska, Obama is scheduled to participate in a climate change conference in Anchorage, tour a glacier and travel to coastal fishing towns, including to the Arctic, the first sitting US President to visit Alaska's Arctic.
Welcome to Alaska, POTUS. We love you. Safe travels.
