Cody Schunk and his son in front of their Minnesota home.
Rochester, Minnesota deputies were attempting to arrest a burglary suspect, raiding a home in the early morning hours. Unfortunately, the man they were looking for lived on the opposite side of the street, several homes down, and it appears that police didn't do any research into who owned the home before
entering the home and scaring his family:
It was around 7 a.m. when the entire family was pulled out of bed.
"I'm 31 years old, I've worked at the same place for fifteen years, I have no criminal record, not even a speeding ticket,” Schunk said.
After about fifteen minutes, Schunk says authorities realized they had the wrong house -- "He came in and said, we're sorry, thanks for cooperating and told my kids we weren't criminals and that was it."
Cody Schunk says police wouldn't even allow his six-year-old son to use the restroom while they were being held. He went on to note that even the smallest bit of research or surveillance would've revealed police were investigating the wrong house. Furthermore, police have yet to show Cody Schunk the warrant they used to raid his family's home.
