Widespread Republican xenophobia makes this a prudent time to register Latino voters:
when a group feels threatened, they are more likely to take action.
For instance, scholars considered threat a mobilizing force in 2006, when 3.5 to 5.1 million people protested the Border Protection, Antiterrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act in more than 160 cities nationwide, according to a 2013 journal article published in the Annual Review of Political Science.

From September 15th to October 15th, the
Hispanic Heritage Month of Action is organizing a a voter registration campaign. As Republican candidates speak of "anchor babies" and spout racist rants, now is an excellent time to register new voters.
