I have an old friend in Lodi, Wisconsin who has fallen on some bad health times and even worse financial times. Tubby (yes, that's his name) has suffered a smorgasbord of illnesses for several years now--cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, chronic kidney disease, osteoarthritis, and two pulmonary embolisms. That's actually not even half of his total number of ailments. And he faces even MORE hospital stays in the future-- to replace one hip and both shoulders.
Because of his illnesses and frequent hospital stays, Tubby has gotten behind on his property taxes. And now he's going to court on the 16th, this coming Wednesday, where he will be given a firm deadline to pay the back property taxes owed-- a sum of over $7300. He has only about $3000 right now.
He will lose his home if cannot pay the total sum by the date the court will set.

Tubby can barely move because of his arthritis. He does not own a computer and has no email address. He has lived in his home for almost 40 years; a beautiful Victorian house just outside downtown Lodi, with ample room for him and the dogs.
It needs a coat of paint, but this house is a beauty.
And it's not just Tubby who faces losing a home. He has four Shelties, three of whom are rescue dogs-- Echo Wind, Volkadious, Misty Mae, and Uppi Uppi Puppi.
Tubby's health crises have pretty much kept him stuck inside his house, with very little companionship. Those dogs have been his lifeline. They have brought him joy when he has desperately needed it-- and they stand just as much to lose as he does.

I have set up a GoFundMe page with a goal of $5000 by September 30th. (I do not know what deadline the Columbia County court will set yet.) Once I have raised the goal amount of $5000, I will send it as a cashier's check directly to the Columbia County Treasurer.
Here is her direct address:

P.O. Box 198
Portage, WI 53901
Since Tubby has no email address, just kosmail me and I will pass the messages along to him on the phone.
Here is the URL for the GoFundMe page I've just set up:

I don't think anyone can recover from major surgery or serious illness without a home to come back to.
So... sorry to bother you, but if you have a little extra cash lying around, could you help out a dear friend in great need? Thank you.
