Good evening, Kibitzers, lukers, friends, in-laws and outlaws...welcome to the table!
Pull up a chair and a beverage and tell me what's on your mind.
Having a good day? A bad one? A regular ol' Humpday?? Do tell.
Hop over the orange croissant of Satan and we'll see what else is happeninin'
I found a few things for which the 16th of September is noted. Some grand, some good, some not-so-good. Leaving out all the sturm und drang of the outer blog and the outright weirdness of the Republican Party....and bearing in mind that I'm really doing this so I don't have to watch the debate tonight..(snort!) I was very tempted to post classic cartoon videos. srsly.
But this is what you got, instead............
It was on this date in 1620 that the Mayflower left Plymouth, England. I'm pretty sure the people who were already living in North America are not celebrating today. Can't say I blame them.
On this date in 1977, Maria Callas' voice was stilled. She was the prima soprano for so long; here is a bit of her J'ai perdu mon Eurydice:
Yeah, yeah. I know. Not everyone loves operatic arias. So sue me, a'ready. Remember, I also do country, hard rock, metal, blues, and love songs. They all will come in time. :-)
Happy Birthday General Motors 1908...I guess we have you to thank for this..
Probably not what William Durant was thinking of when he started the thing, huh?
One other thing for this date in 1993...Frasier debuted. Doesn't seem that long ago, does it? And am I the only one who preferred Niles to Frasier? Frasier always seemed to dither; Niles got his snark on. Plus...he fell for Daphne. But my most favourite character of all was..
Eddie.
So, what's shaking in your corner of the world tonight? We're edging toward the end of calendar summer...less than a week from the Autumnal Equinox. Am I the only one who still says, "Autumn"?? I prefer that word to "Fall" as that brings to mind too many episodes of my clumsiness. None of which we shall discuss here, tyvm. There are no living witnesses who are willing to come forward. I scared them all into silence.
(glares around the verrrry silent room)
So. Do tell. Please leave your community links on the tip jar so we can see them easily. Bring your questions, jokes, pics, and whatevers. We especially like the whatevers!

Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with kossacks who are caring and supportive of one another. So bring your stories, jokes, photos, funny pics, music, and interesting videos, as well as links—including quotations—to diaries, news stories, and books that you think this community would appreciate. Readers may notice that most who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but newcomers should not feel excluded. We welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.
