Last night, in the second Republican debate, Carly Fiorina said this:
if you want to stump a Democrat, ask them to name a accomplishment of Mrs. Clinton's.
Unfortunately, that sort of rhetoric is not limited to the circus stage. We see the same thing quite often here on Daily Kos, like:
Name one thing Hilary ever accomplished (2+ / 0-)
Beyond another speech and a few dead trees spent printing the same. When did she ever create a better classroom, a person insured better, another improvement in the country anywnhere. Where is Hillarys great experience in effect. Name one law she wrote - just one. The problem is she has written none. Not one. All that talk and absolutely Zero accimplishement as a senator. Before that her public experience included serialy botching an attorney General hiring, the health insurance fiasco we are now muddling through with and a stint on Wall Mart's board of Directors. Where is the acomplishemnts you speak of - dead trees with dead words promoting dead acts?
Conventional wisdom is most usualy an oxymoron.

Where she was on Iraq (1+ / 0-)
Last year when she opposed making the poor beleaguered Iraq governmnent think about timetables to accomplish self governance she exhited very poor leadership. It's not the first time. This is a woman who would be the only first President we will ever have. Before you bestow that lasting tribute on Hillary don't you think she should have accomplished one thing in her political carreer ? What would that thing be in Hillary's case? What has she accomplished in her public life to deserve this nomination?

Lol. (0+ / 0-)
...
And even since Bill was President -- Where's the experience there? Losing health care in '93? Schip? Really? -- Schip? Do you want to go there? Okay we can. What else? What has Hillary done as Senator? Seriously, set forth Hillary's Senate "accomplishments" because I have no clue what they are.

3 Big Reasons Hillary Clinton Should Never Be President
byTed Rall
Zero Accomplishments. Bad for Women. And She's Dumb.
1. Zero record of accomplishment.
Since 2009 we've seen what happens when we elect a president with charisma but minus a resume: weakness, waffling, national decline. Obama's signature/single accomplishment, the Affordable Care Act, embodies design-by-committee conception and autopilot execution.
Hillary's admirers have conflated her impressive list of jobs with actually having gotten things done. When you scratch the surface, however, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that the woman has done little more than warm a series of comfy leather desk chairs. How has this career politician changed Americans' lives? Not in the least.
It goes on forever, but I think you get the flavor.
So, either people here are hateful propagandists (I hope not), or are merely ignorant and need more information (I hope that's it), so I decided to write a few diaries about Clinton's accomplishments.
The first one, for no particular reason other than it's the first that popped into mind, is the 2012 Israel-Hamas ceasefire.
On August 18, 2011, there was a series of cross-border attacks. First, militants opened fire on a civilian bus. Then they set off a bomb near an Israeli army patrol. Finally, an anti-tank missile was fired at a civilian vehicle, killing four people. A total of 8 Israelis, including 6 civilians, were killed. The IDF reported 8 attackers killed, and Egypt killed another 2.
On March 9, 2012, Zohair al-Qaisi, who Israel said was behind the cross-border attacks, was killed in an Israeli air attack. Hamas responded with more than 300 missile attacks, wounding 23 civilians and forcing school closings for weeks.
On March 12, Israel conducted attacks within Gaza, killing two militants and wounding 29 civilians.
During an informal cease-fire from March 13-29, a smattering of rockets and mortar rounds were fired from Gaza.
Things settled down for a while, then, in late Summer, Israel started enforcing a limited fishing zone, with attacks against fishermen. This led to escalation, increased enforcement, increased rocket, bomb and mortar attacks, and finally, the October 23 explosion of an arms factory in Khartoum, Sudan, which Israel alleged was supplying Hamas.
Violence then took a real uptick, with a large increase in the number of rockets, mortars, bombs, and personal attacks coming from Gaza, and airstrikes coming from Israel.
Israel amassed thousands of troops on the border and appeared ready to invade Gaza again.
In late November, Egypt sponsored talks between Hamas and Israel. Clinton, who had been traveling with President Obama in south-east Asia, left Cambodia to meet with Netanyahu, Palestinian officials and Egyptian leaders.
The parties would not deal directly with each other, so Egypt and the US acted as intermediaries. Hillary Clinton was directly involved with these negotiations.
In the days before the ceasefire was reached, Secretary Clinton pushed Israel and met with Egypt attempting to broker a deal:
On the deadliest day of fighting in the week-old conflict, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived hurriedly in Jerusalem and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel to push for a truce. She was due in Cairo on Wednesday to consult with Egyptian officials in contact with Hamas, placing her and the Obama administration at the center of a fraught process with multiple parties, interests and demands.
According to the New York Times:
The cease-fire deal was reached only through a final American diplomatic push: Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton conferred for hours with Mr. Morsi and the United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, at the presidential palace here. Hanging over the talks was the Israeli shock at a Tel Aviv bus bombing — praised by Hamas — that recalled past Palestinian uprisings and raised fears of heavy Israeli retaliation. After false hopes the day before, Western and Egyptian diplomats said they had all but given up hope for a quick end to the violence.
Here's the story from NBC (sorry about the ad):

So next time somebody, whether it's Carly Fiorina or a Daily Kos regular, says Hillary Clinton has no record of accomplishments, you can point to the 2012 Israel-Hamas ceasefire.
Like your candidate. Don't like another candidate. But in our fervor and joy, can we please remain the reality-based community, and not tear down any of our Democratic candidates for the Presidency? Thank you.
More to come in future diaries.
