What a day for the good guys. Even internationally, Blatter basically got served today, but domestically, House Speaker Boehner will be leave the building the beautiful crying magnifient conservative Elvis he is. His protege defeated, his legacy in question, Boehner has decided the best course of action is to call it a day.
Seems having the Tea Party at your party burns the house down, far-right fear-based populism will do that to you. Historically always ends like this. Though usually the captain goes down with the ship, John Boehner just Francesco Schettino'ed the House GOP.
Where others see chaos, disappear and an inability to get Tea Party GOPers to Yes, I see an incredible opportunity.
It's a wild idea, but meet me below the fold.
Now, as I see the tea leaves, we are going to have a vicious knee-capping among four major contenders, McCarthy, Sessions, Jordan and Scalise, or Sold-Out, Dandy Boss Hogg, the lunatic and the racist, respectively.
The lunatic has imaginary proven-fake propaganda about people harvesting babies. It's bullshit and they've been lying about this for over 20 years now.
Body Parts for Sale - Fetal Harvesting

"Kelly" (a pseudonym) was a medical technician working for a firm that trafficked in baby body parts. This is not a bad joke. Nor is it the hysterical propaganda of an interest group. It was reported in The American Enterprise magazine -- the intelligent, thought-provoking and utterly trustworthy publication of the American Enterprise Institute.
The firm Kelly worked for collected fetuses from clinics that performed late-term abortions. She would dissect the aborted fetuses in order to obtain "high-quality" parts for sale. They were interested in blood, eyes, livers, brains and thymuses, among other things.
The lunatic thinks we are all stupid and forgot their dog and pony show from the 90s, Pepperidge Farm remembers. But he has a small horde of stupid behind him. He will play his part in this by splitting the votes among GOPer with his fantasy Jesus campers.
The best thing about the racist is he will get the snakes out of the grass. The racist is not just some good old fashion southern racism, naw, this dude, this dude gives talks to the European-American Unity and Rights Organization.
Literally Neo-Nazis.
House Majority Whip Scalise confirms he spoke to white supremacists in 2002

Scalise, 49, who ascended to the House GOP’s third-ranking post this year, confirmed through an adviser that he once appeared at a convention of the European-American Unity and Rights Organization, or EURO. But the adviser said the congressman didn’t know at the time about the group’s affiliation with racists and neo-Nazi activists.
“For anyone to suggest that I was involved with a group like that is insulting and ludicrous,” Scalise told the Times-Picayune on Monday night. The organization, founded by former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, has been called a hate group by several civil rights organizations.
I'm not buying this David Duke-like meme, his Successor sounds more like it. Anyone who backs this guy in the up coming wrestling match should be duly noted and no longer allowed in polite society.
Next up to bat is the Dandy Boss Hogg. Poor Pete Sessions, I live in Texas and know all your various scandals. From being involved in the golden-era Jack Abramoff scandal to your rather ethically challenged Countrywide "Friends of Angelo" loan, my favorite has always been those playful getaways with ponzu-schemer Allen Stanford to Fire Island, whisked there like a princess on Stanford's private jets.
Seriously, though, Fire Island. All I want to know is if Rick Perry jet pooled with you.
Which gets us to McCarthy. Nice enough guy really, and what an old school Republican would once considered to be, keep government out of the castle and make extra oil for the gears of commerce. He's just a little heavy on the oil for my liking and will be considered a liberal by any standard of the modern GOP. He will split off the pro-business GOPers who see a shutdown as a huge kick the groin to their portfolios, and they would be correct.
So I say we pick our own liberal GOPer.
I know, I know, stay with me here, we pick our own liberal GOPer and throw all the Democratic house votes behind him. With any luck, the four horse split above will allow us to slap one past the goalie and save the country from pincheing itself over the next month.
The reason we need to back a GOPer is because no coalition is going to put a Democrat in as House Speaker. We should also call this coalition the "Country First Coalition" which will be this crazy through back to bipartisan effort to govern again.
The Democratic Party has 188 votes here, let's not waste them on a 3rd party with no chance of winning, eh? No vanity vote, but let's use those to get to 218, that's only 20 sane GOPers we need to find. We should get behind the sanest.
Who? It pains me as a Texan to say this, but we need a New Yorker, we should back retiring Rep. Chris Gibson.
He is the only Republican who has crossed the party line for the Democratic Party consistently, because he is a moderate Republican.
He was the only crossover for the EPA and Science overhaul vote, one of ten Republicans who broke over Ryan's Plan for Oligarchy and backed Obama's budget and basically has no scandals I can think of and has more decoration than a Christmas tree, retiring as Colonel and taught American Politics at West Point.
He is also retiring.
If anyone can, Rep. Chris Gibson might whip the GOP into governing again and the Democratic Party doesn't have to worry about a legacy House Speaker because he is retiring.
Plus, it would be great to see the faces on the GOP when a moderate runs the show. If that coalition could stick until 2016, Congress might even get something. The more of the President's Agenda gets done by 2016, the better for the Democratic Party as a whole next election cycle.
That is unless, the Democratic Party lacks some modern-day LBJ to pull this horse trade off.
If the beltway does, look into Rep. Gibson, he might just be the silver bullet to get this gridlock behind us and the President's agenda moving again.
Just floating this on by. Now to the weekend.
