For those of you not familiar with my situation, I am currently homeless, but probably in one of the best places in the world (ok, at least in Illinois) for that to happen...
This 2nd diary of today (I remember when we weren't allowed to do that) is an update about my phone interview.
My phone interview was with CVS Caremark. They have a corporate office well north of here (roughly 40 miles), and they are looking for a Sr. System Tester/Quality Assurance Analyst.
(For those of you who like the techie stuff: Most of their applications are on AS400 - which at my old job, we always just called "the mainframe" - and manually tested. While I did test fairly large web applications in more recent years, a lot of the applications I tested were on the mainframe - until we converted the mainframe to web in a HUGE project - and nearly all of the testing was manual.)
The interview went well, the salary amount I mentioned (the amount I got paid when I was laid off) is "in range" - an amount that should help me get out of the shelters relatively quickly - and my information will be passed to the hiring manager. I should know by late next week whether I will be interviewed in person.
I'm a bit overwhelmed with the whole driving 80 (plus) miles a day thing, but hey! I need a job!!
Please keep the hiring manager in your thoughts!
PS - when the guy (Nate) asked why I was applying for full time now... I didn't say, "Well, because I'm homeless, dude."
