I am now writing a book,
here in my blog.
This is Part One,
consisting of the
Table of Contents,
with a brief summary of each chapter.
Below the divider doodle.

Brief summary of
Introduction: Hiding in Plain Sight
The reason that the title of the book is true,
that there will be a famine in America,
no later than the year 2050,
and that at least 200 million will die in that famine,
the cause of all that famine and death,
is hiding in plain sight.
The cause is:
the end of plentiful crude oil
means the end of plentiful diesel fuel,
which means the end of plentiful food,
which means people will starve and die.
The fact that food comes from oil,
by way of diesel fueled farm equipment,
and diesel fueled trucks and trains,
is common knowledge,
hiding in plain sight.
The fact that the world will experience a severe shortage of oil,
in the foreseeable future,
is common knowledge,
hiding in plain sight.
In my Introduction,
I will provide links and quotes,
facts and figures,
to support this simple idea.
Brief summary of
Chapter One: The Two Phases of the Industrial Revolution
I will outline the first phase,
the steam engine phase,
and point out how far reaching the second phase,
the diesel engine phase,
has now become.
Brief summary of
Chapter Two: Feeding 100 Million With Horses and Mules
I will explain what America was like in the 1930's,
when my parents were young.
I will focus mainly on the system of food production and distribution
in place at that time.
The title of this chapter forms the basis of my estimate,
that without diesel powered machines,
we can feed no more than 100 million Americans,
leaving at least 200 million to starve,
hence the "200 Million Will Die,"
in the title of the book.
Brief summary of
Chapter Three: The Agricultural Revolution
In this chapter I will point out the big changes in food production and distribution methods since 1930.
Brief summary of
Chapter Four: Overpopulation
In this chapter I will simply point out that if we never establish how many mouths we intend to feed, and find ways to keep our numbers at or below that level, then we can never find a sustainable way to feed ourselves.
Brief summary of
Chapter Five: Preppers and the Zombie Apocalypse
This chapter will give you some idea of the terrible fighting and severe hardships that may dominate life in America, for awhile, sometime between 2030 and 2050, and, maybe, for much longer.
Brief summary of
Chapter Six: Community Gardens, Community Livestock, and Electric Tractors and Trains
In this chapter, we will explore a few of the ideas for producing and distributing food in America, without plentiful diesel fuel.
Brief summary of
Summary: Too Little, Too Late
The title says it all;
no matter what we do now,
it will be
too little,
too late,
to save the lives of most Americans.
At least a few million will survive,
but nothing we do now can save the lives of at least
200 million Americans.
Thanks for reading.
