So, the Donald did an interview with Don Lemon last week, and was asked his views on Muslims, African-Americans, and gays and lesbians. Well, no he's not homophobic or racist. Not only that, EVERYONE loves him ... gays, blacks, even evangelicals and the tea people. Follow me below the fold for the discussion and a part of the CNN interview.

I think that Trump's views of LGBT folks are probably fairly moderate compared to other GOP candidates for president. But, that's not saying much, and he has to appeal to the right wing religious crazies in the GOP.
I'm not really sure about his (real) views of our Latino and African-American brothers and sisters. His rhetoric, however, has been reprehensible. I'd like to say that it's shocking that he leads the GOP field with this sort of hateful rhetoric, but sadly we know it's not. The GOP base is eating it up, and loving it.
From The New Civil Rights Movement:
"Do you think that you are homophobic?," Lemon asked.
"I think that I’m a very nice person," Trump responded. "I love people, and I have to tell you, when you look at those polls, it’s across the board. You know who loves me? The Tea Party. The evangelicals. I’m leading with evangelicals — I love them, they love me. I’m Presbyterian, I’m Protestant, and they like me. You know why? Because they think I’m gonna do a great job for the country."
Lemon went on to say, "Some people may perceive you as racist. Answer that."
"So I just did a speech for the African-American Chamber of Commerce of South Carolina. They just wrote me the most beautiful letter I’ve gotten in a long time saying how unfairly I got treated by the press," Trump claimed. "I did it as a favor to a couple of friends who just happen to be African-American."
Trump went on to say he had been "surrounded by a tremendous number of people," but was angry because CNN aired a photo of a room half-filled with empty seats.
From petapixel.com (with regard to the empty chairs issue):
Photographer Mic Smith covered the event in Charleston, South Carolina, on Wednesday. The photos he transmitted to the Associated Press appear to tell two different stories: one was a closeup of the front of the room, showing Trump speaking to a crowd of people seated and gathered around him.
Trump claims that the room was actually full, and that the chairs in the back were empty because people had left them to crowd around him at the front of the room.
“The photographer [Mic Smith] is a f**ing thief,” Trump said in an interview with The Daily Mail. “Tell them they’re a fraud, whoever took it. I just got killed on that thing, and it was just really unfair. It’s goddn unfair.”
Here is the photograph that Trump got pissed off over:

From Zen Trainer:
This whole thing is hilarious on a Monty Python kind of level but this comment by koNko was really good. It was in Robert Paul Lamb's GBCW diary. The diarist is quitting because the comments in his other diary went off the rails. But now the comments in this diary have gone off the rails.
From your diarist:
This comment by llbear gives us a fascinating account of an open carry practitioner and what he did during the shooting in Roseburg from SemDem's diary.
