A daily series, Connect! Unite! Act! seeks to create face-to-face networks in each congressional district. Groups regularly socialize but also get out the vote, support candidates and engage in other local political actions that help our progressive movement grow and exert influence on the powers-that-be. Visit us at Daily Kos every morning at 7:30 A.M. Pacific Time to see how you can get involved. The comment thread is fun and light-hearted, but we're serious about moving the progressive political agenda forward.

Welcome to WHAT IF Wednesday!
WHAT IF... just little old you could Make a Difference?
Would you do it?
There is someone here at Daily Kos who does and is doing it...
In the state of Virginia the 90for90.org project has been making waves all year. Their goal is a Quarter Million for the Old Dominion by election day 2016. As of the end of August, they have added OVER 90,000 newly registered voters to the rolls! They added another 20,000 in the month of September alone!!!! That's gonna put them over their goal by next fall. It's a project I plan to repeat here in the Evergreen State.
A Virginia kossack, Gordon20024, has been diligently posting diaries about the Democratic candidates running THIS FALL in Virginia and whom those 90,000+ new voters may just help to Victory. So if you missed these great MEET THE CANDIDATE diaries when they were fresh - AND - if you know anyone who lives in Virginia and may be able to vote for them? PLEASE SHARE THESE LINKS:

(Mar 18, 2015) Junie Bug said in comment section of 90for90.org:
It's amazing to contemplate, just briefly, the incredible results that might be achieved by the Democratic Party of Va.( or any state ), if every Dem. candidate, incumbent or challenger, in cycle or off cycle, from Governor to county commissioner, city council to dog catcher, decided to participate in this project. People who have never voted, or thought about casting a vote, might be convinced to exercise their franchise. Democrats might move into the majority in the statehouse for the foreseeable future. Virginia could be considered a solid Democratic state for the next presidential cycle.
The candidates have everything to gain by participating. Increasing voter registration/activation and participation is purely in their self-interest. Statewide party building is a pleasant side effect. Thank you to the builders, workers, and candidates involved in this project; and thanks to the man it is meant to honor. You are 90 years young! Please continue as long as it brings you joy, with your usual style and grace!
So, if you see something you can do, something as simple as writing a few Daily Kos diaries, to help some other people who are out there, day after day, working hard to make a difference and running for Public Office?
PLEASE DO IT.
FYI: I have an OCTOBER fundraiser running. You can read about that RIGHT HERE.
Update Under advisement, I'm adding some details about the October Fundraiser:
as always...

SFKossacks Attend Paul Hogarth's Dramatic Appearance in Gore Vidal’s The Best Man
TIME: 8:00 PM
LOCATION: The Piedmont Center for the Arts
801 Magnolia Avenue [expect city street parking] • Piedmont
Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos Activism staff member is part of the cast.
The Piedmont Players present Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, a delicious, satirical political drama set at a nominating convention during a mythical 1960’s era election. A play about power, ambition, political secrets, and the race for the presidency, The Best Man takes place at the national convention where two candidates are vying for their party’s nomination for president. It’s an inside look at the dirt-digging, double-dealing, triple-crossing chicanery of presidential electioneering, and what could be more fun in a presidential campaign season than these theatrical fireworks?
ORGANIZER: Send navajo a kosmail to attend, $25 ticket price. navajo is purchasing a block of tickets. Kosmail her STAT.
