According to NRA wackjob Ted Nugent, "losers who don't carry a gun get cut down by murderous maniacs like blind sheep to slaughter". From his article:
Here’s the answer. Quit acting like helpless sheep afraid of a simple tool. Get a damn handgun. Practice with it. Train with it. Learn to carry it hidden and discreetly. And when attacked by a bear or cougar, don’t “try to look big” – just shoot the damn thing
Yeah, except by the time you finish pissing your pants because the animal has surprised you, and you momentarily froze, it has gotten you. Your gun is useless.
If someone is approaching you with the intent to do grave bodily harm, and you will know it when it happens, try to escape to the best of your ability, but if there is no escape, pull out your weapon and aim for center mass and start shooting. Keep on shooting until you believe the threat to be over
And the problem here is that we have too many John Wayne/Dirty Harry wanna-bes in this country. George Zimmerman ring a bell? They perceive a threat in EVERYTHING, as an excuse to shoot at people. Look their direction? You were intimidating. Walk their direction? You were charging them.
I guess by Nugent's logic, those kids at Newtown would still be alive has they all been armed.
Giving everyone a gun is not the answer. If we all have guns, you don't know who is a good guy and who's the bad guy. you don't know if the guy that just pulled his gun out only did so to show it to someone. You don't know if the guy next to him pulled his out to shoot someone. And all this will lead to is everyone killing each other, and cops killing people because they see "guy with gun", and don't know if the guy is a good guy, or the lunatic "active shooter" they were called about.
Let me see him propose something that might actually do good. Like closing the Brady bill loophole or the gun show loophole. But that won't happen anytime soon.
Nugent.......a 2-bit has-been trying to be relevant. Newsflash. He's not relevant. Hasn't been for years, and wont be any time soon.
