Sen. Roy Blunt (R. MO)
Received this e-mail today from Secretary of State Jason Kander's (D. MO) U.S. Senate campaign:
I don’t get to tell the Royals or Cardinals how to play baseball. I can yell at my TV all I want (and trust me, I do) -- but they won’t listen. And that’s good, because despite what my 12-year-old self hoped, I’m not a baseball player or a coach. I’m not the guy you want deciding when to pinch hit or make a pitching change.
That same logic applies to a lot of issues that Congress deals with -- especially when it comes to women’s health.
For a long time, Congress has tried to get between women in Missouri and their doctors. Their latest try was voting to strip funding from Planned Parenthood -- an organization that provides vital health care to millions of women every year.
I don’t want some member of Congress in Washington making the calls on Missouri women’s health. And if you don’t either, say so.

Sign the petition to tell Congress: Leave Planned Parenthood alone and stay out of women’s health.

The government shouldn’t interfere in medical decisions. Congressmen are not doctors. And the ones who are aren’t your doctors.
Decisions about any type of care -- reproductive or otherwise -- should be left to women, their families, and their own doctors, including if those doctors are at Planned Parenthood.
