The millionaires and billionaires of the
Koch brothers' donor network have spread
more than $22 million across many of the Republican presidential candidates, but one notable name has been left out entirely: Donald Trump. And one of those donors, billionaire Stanley Hubbard, had
a hysterical, horrifying reason for opposing Trump's candidacy:
“This idea of ‘I don’t need to have any funding, I’ll fund myself,’ that scares the hell out of me,” Hubbard said.
“That’s like a dictator. I think that any politician should have to answer to their constituents … I don’t think it’s healthy to have somebody who doesn’t answer to anybody.”
My god! If he's not answerable to billionaires, what is our democracy coming to? Seriously, one of the very people gathering together to try to ensure that this presidential race is bought by the top tenth of the top one percent is talking about how scary it would be to have politicians not answering to their constituents.
