Wah, wah, wah
Everyone's favorite poster-boy for corporate greed, Martin Shkreli, is still super-duper upset about being
rejected by Bernie Sanders. He is having a difficult time reconciling that the majority of people don't agree with what he and other CEOs take for granted—that greed is good. He is in a public relations shame-spiral right now, with even
competition taking his faux-humanistic business model to task. Where do the disgraced and grotesque amongst us run for cover? Fox News/Business/Whatever sub-genre we can stick a "Fox" in front of. Maria Bartiromo asked Shkreli what he thought of Senator Sanders:
I think that he is a demagogue. He'll say anything to get a vote and for me to be his piñata is unacceptable. I think he has some really great ideas...
He goes on to rehash how he gave the money to Sanders and Sanders rejected it and donated it. It's tough having been misled by a demagogue. It forces you to call him a demagogue and then say he has some good ideas but that he doesn't have good ideas.
Ultimately, I think Bernie has some really great ideas but if he wants to talk about pharmaceuticals he can do that with me, but I think he's afraid to do that with me because I would destroy him in any debate about pharmaceuticals.
We then get to the real reason he's on Fox. Maria Bartiromo asks him who he's supporting for president now that he's been rejected by Bernie.
I haven't made my decision yet. I'd be willing to support a democrat. In fact I was going to start a democratic super-pac with my own money but after this backlash and lack of understanding from the democrats, I may support a Republican now.
Teehee. He proceeds to say he's smarter about science and smarter about business and better than any other pharmaceutical company and CEOs. He says he donates more and take less. He may very well be right; but comparing yourself to other CEOs in order to lift the public's perception of your personal integrity is a little like the fox explaining to the hens why he's better than the coyote.
