With captivating footage shot in black and white, this new
Adele video starts off with an eerie feeling as if we're visiting another time. She drives to an old house, and outside she appears to be making a call to someone, but doesn't get through. She goes inside, pulls and shakes the dust covers from the furniture in a darkened room, and begins calling someone again - without success. The young Grammy-winning singer and songwriter uses a slow, vulnerable-sounding voice throughout the first two verses, but you just know something is coming. And then chorus comes and Adlele's vocals virtually explode. There is so much power, conviction, and gut-wrenching hurt in her vocals, it's like being picked up and blown across the room and then you get up and go right back over and get blown across again. The girl is amazing.
'Hello' (Chorus)
Hello from the other side
I must’ve called a thousand times
To tell you, I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done
But when I call you, you never seem to be home
Hello from the other side
At least that I can say that I’ve tried
To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart
But it don’t matter
It clearly doesn’t tear you apart... anymore
If this first single is any indication of what we can expect from her upcoming album, the world is in for a treat. The expected release date for '25' (a number which reflects the young singer's age when she wrote the album) is slated for November 20, 2015. Judging from the 70 million current views the YouTube Vevo video has already garnered, in only a few days, 'Hello' is sure to break some records - as well as many a heart.
