"As a teenager, I would go after people with rocks, and bricks, and baseball bats, and hammers. And, of course, many people know the story when I was 14 and I tried to stab someone."
Wait... What?!?!?!
Lest you think I am quoting him out of context, behold:
We already had a president with a history of torturing animals and attacking people. That didn't end well. Now we are supposed to believe a guy who went after people with rocks, bricks, baseball bats and hammers... is who we want to put in a position where they control real deadly force?
Yes, kids do stupid things. But read that list again -- that's an escalating list of deadly force multipliers. Yes, people make terrible choices and later in life turn things around, but they do it with a sense of regret. There is remorse for their bad choices and a recognition of the consequences these bad choices generate. None of this is apparent in Carson's recounting of these various attacks. The oddest part of his response for me was how he nonchalantly dismissed the attempted murder by saying "of course, many people know the story when I was fourteen and I tried to stab someone."
I think it is fair to say a lot of people didn't know that story. But that is because few people were paying attention to Ben Carson in the summer of 2014. But now that we are paying attention, it appears the story about the attempted stabbing keeps changing.
But let's go back and ask a different question. How many times did he "go after people" with "rocks" (plural), and "bricks" (plural), and "baseball bats" (plural) and "hammers" (plural)? I am assuming that is at least 4 separate incidents. Were there more? In addition to the knife incident, that is. Who did he target in these attacks? What happened to the people he attacked?
Compared to this bombshell, the accusations of plagiarism and stock fraud seem almost quaint.
Baseball bats? There's nothing innocent about attacking people with baseball bats.
Mosley told police he watched a movie where someone got hit with a bat and he wanted to try it. His family said he has mental issues.
