DK4 is a dead end - Beta is the miracle cure.
We’re beside ourselves this week. We're publishing KosAbility both in antiquated DK4 (You R Here) and avant-guard DK5 Beta (Check Out
There). Both this schedule diary and our regular Sunday diary are being published in both versions of Daily Kos. The DK interface you know is a dead end so come and explore the beta world of DK5.
The Beta version and everything written and created there will vanish when DK5 takes over any week now, so practice comments, embeds, formatting, and interacting with menus and tool bars. (There will be help from Cranky Users and the DK5 Manual team when DK5 goes live.)
Nothing will ever be attempted, if all possible objections must be first overcome. (Samuel Johnson, 1759)
This Sunday 1 November 2015 is an Open Thread: What Weird Things Do You Do to Save Money by Gwennedd. Share your quirky or brilliant money-saving measures — or comment on something else entirely. The following Sunday (8 Nov) is food: healthy desserts with no (or low) sugar and gluten free but missing nothing luscious you expect from dessert.
Last Sunday, Steven Parks explained how Facebook and photos are helping his mother connect socially to overcome the isolation of dementia. Other diaries we republished this past week can be found here.
