I'm not sure it's even possible for us to understand to our core how crazy these Republicans really are. I don't want to understand. I just want them out of office.
I think there is a time to be polite and a time to win elections. Don Shaw's opponent, Bob Marshall, says stuff like this:
When asked about abortion in the case of incest, Marshall replied that sometimes incest is voluntary. In response to abortions in the case of rape, Marshall said, "Your origins should not be held against you [referring to the victim's unborn child]. The woman becomes a sin-bearer of the crime, because the right of a child predominates over the embarrassment of the woman."
No incest is not voluntary Bob, that's why they call it incest.
The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children... In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There's a special punishment Christians would suggest.
So this guy is seriously crazy and should not even be responsible for a pencil box but I have to say I enjoy this part: (I would like it better if it were a fictional TV show)
In September 2007, State Senator John Watkins was overwhelmingly voted the chair of Virginia Commission on Immigration, 16-3. Marshall, however, refused to give up his interim chair and "panel members had to wrestle the gavel away from Marshall". Marshall then challenged Watkins to a debate.]
I'm surprised he didn't challenge him to a duel. His response to the school shooting in Sandy Hook, can you guess? Yep. Arm the teachers.
If we have to be a little in your face we have to be a little in your face but we can't let guys like this keep getting elected.
Dick Black, running against Jill McCabe
Black opposed making spousal rape a crime, citing the impossibility of convicting a husband accused of raping his wife "when they're living together, sleeping in the same bed, she's in a nightie, and so forth."
Sure, nighties and all, that explains it.
Black has referred to emergency contraception, which does not cause abortions, as "baby pesticide." Black also fought to block a statue of Abraham Lincoln at a former Confederate site in Richmond. He wasn't sure, he explained at the time, that statues of Lincoln belonged in Virginia. He has argued that abortion is a worse evil than slavery.
"Baby pesticide"????? These guys are deeply, deeply disturbed!
Black a retired military prosecutor. He spoke frequently to media outlets about sexual assault in the military, and called military rape "as predictable as human nature." "Think of yourself at 25," Black told a newspaper in 1996. "Wouldn't you love to have a group of 19-year-old girls under your control, day in, day out?"

Under your control? I don't think the military even calls it that. I think your job description probably says you are responsible for these young women.
Running against Toni Radler
Running against April Moore
This is a comment from my diary here where I answer someone who thinks now is the time to work on getting out the vote.
Oh. GOTV is absolutely important, it's just too
soon for that. We're voting here, not going to a Springsteen concert. We can't show up 3 days early. LOL! Man, it would be cool if people were that excited to vote.
We do, right now, have time to get these candidates a bit of extra money and get some letters to the editor sent.
It's what I can do to help from TN and it's what people across the country can do.
DFA is on the ground and Monday is the time for phone calls, which I gotta say is a little bit pitiful. There are way too many people who don't decide to vote until the day before or OF the election.
I hope your efforts and mine can help change that in our lifetimes.
Boy and if Uber and Lyft wanted some good publicity they would drive people for free to the polls.
I tend to be way more idealistic than that, I want buses picking up folks and driving them to vote.
We'll get there, I have every faith.
Monday and Tuesday you can bet I'll be working on getting out the vote, even from here in my house in TN. But today and tomorrow there are still things we can do.
Wayne Powell and Debbie Repp.
You can help them by sending any little money that you can. The links are right on their names. Even this late in the game they can print extra flyers and maybe even buy a radio or TV spot. For Debbie Repp you can also send a letter to the Richmond Times (who by the way has endorsed both the Republican candidates in these 2 races and has not covered the Federal investigation into HIPPA violations at all). Let’s flood the Richmond Times Dispatch with Letters to the Editor. http://www.richmondtimesdispatch.com
Or if these two candidates don’t move you 90for90 has many more.
See my last diary for more details.
