... depending upon who writes Constitutional Amendments and who interprets them. The "Equal Protection" and "Due Process" clauses of the 5th and 14th amendments CAN be interpreted to state that every "person" shall have equal voting power. People who do not want everyone to have equal voting power ("predators", such as the current majorities in Congress and the Supreme Court) will not see it that way. In fact, you will hear plenty of distracting noise from the "right wing" ("predators") in favor of repealing those clauses because they prevent complete "freedom" [to be predatory]. Read on below.
On September 17th, the Brazilian Supreme Court declared that corporate donations to political campaigns are unconstitutional according to their 1988 Constitution. If this is not evidence enough that changing social conditions require changing Constitutions (to prevent human predation), it at least strongly suggests that our Constitution could and should be interpreted in the same way.
"Predators" ("right wing") were involved in the writing our Constitution and demanded certain "compromises" in support of their power and control over the rest of us. It could fairly be assumed that, if the "Equal Protection" and Due Process" clauses in Amendments to our Constitution are not interpretable in the same way that the similar clauses in the Brazilian Constitution have been interpreted, it is due to "compromise language" insisted on by our "predators" and foolishly agreed to.
If so, that language can be changed.
On the other hand, if the decision of the predatory majority of our Supreme Court upholding "Citizens United" is based upon a completely false and manipulated interpretation of the Clauses, then an anti-predatory Supreme Court can overturn that decision.
It might even be possible to accuse the predators on the current Supreme Court, not only of gross and extreme incompetence and negligence, but of blatant corruption and self-interest ... and thus, of course, "Predation."
