You might recall their names as they both had an affair together earlier this year....denied it... got caught...he tried to get out of it by claiming a homosexual affair...and then in the end he resigned and she was expelled from the Michigan House.
Well, they decided to run again in the GOP primaries, being the fine outstanding Republicans that they were, since we were supposed to love the sinners (adultery) but hate the sin, or...er...nevermind, that is something else.
Anyway, they decided that they both would run again.
The results?
both got thrashed.
With 78% of precincts reporting, Gamrat trailed with only 9.8% of the vote, while Whiteford led with 51% and Jim Storey was next with 24%, according to the Allegan County clerk's office.
In the Courser race, with 61% of precincts reporting, Courser was trailing in 6th place with less than 4% of the votes, while the top vote-getter, Howell, had about 27%, according to results posted on the Lapeer County website
I guess this just goes to show you that even rural Republicans have a learning curve, steep as it might be.
