Now that the local elections are over in Minnesota, we can start focusing on organizing for the March 1st , 2016 DFL precinct caucuses. Our goal is to maximize turnout for the presidential preference balloting for Bernie Sanders, and to raise the money we need to support the election of delegates to endorsing conventions at all levels who will be engaged in supporting candidates and platform resolutions that embody Bernie's policy.
Actually, in a few areas where there were no local elections (e.g. Bemidji and Minneapolis) we've actually already some rigorous canvassing. We've created a simple quarter-page leaflet at a local union print shop and put it in hundreds of hands. We need to be able to raise more money to keep doing that. We're also hosting our first public event on 11/14 - a Democratic debate-watching party at the Hampton Inn in Bemidji.
Our website is pretty simple at this point - based on a caucus pledge card I created for the Beltrami County Fair back in July (much improved with input from many who were part of the MN4Bernie web/social media organization before it became clear we had to split off and form an uncoordinated part with more democracy and local control).
If you are in the area, please RSVP for the debate watching party, share the link with others who might be interested and stay in touch!
