And here we thought Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz didn't have any friends at all.
Iowa Congressman Steve King threw his support Monday behind U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz as the Texas Republican makes a bid for the White House. [...]
"I’ve watched him under fire. I’ve watched him under pressure and he’s come from a place that was common and worked his way up to becoming a senator and he’s got the courage and he’s got the foresight and he’s got the leadership skills to do what needs to be done," King said at the October rally. "I know when that time comes, you have him in the Oval Office, he will close that door and will turn down those lights and ask God for guidance."
So there you go. The most disliked senator in Washington has found a friend. Sure, he’s one of the most disliked people in the House of Representatives, but anti-immigration frothers have to stick together.
