One more state has determined that Planned Parenthood is guilty of nothing but providing health care to women.
SEATTLE (AP) — Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson says he has found no evidence to support allegations against Planned Parenthood in Washington.
In July, the attorney general’s office received letters from state lawmakers requesting he investigate Planned Parenthood.
Ferguson said on Monday he has sent responses to the lawmakers saying he has found no evidence that the organization is operating in violation of state or federal law.
He expressed concern about unfounded allegations against Planned Parenthood because they could make it more difficult for Washington women to get health care.
Washington's investigation was important because it has one of the few affiliates around the country that actually does facilitate fetal tissue donations—the supposed cause of the supposed violations uncovered in the bogus undercover videos that started this whole mess. If you're keeping track, that makes at least eight states—Missouri, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Massachusetts, South Dakota, Indiana, and Florida are the others—which have exonerated Planned Parenthood.
What's curious about a handful of other states—Arizona, Texas, Ohio, and Louisiana—is that we really don't know what, if anything, their investigations have found. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal tried to cut off Medicaid funding to the organization before his supposed investigation could come up with any conclusions, and was rebuffed in the courts. The investigation in Texas apparently hasn't come up with anything yet, prompting a raid by authorities on Planned Parenthood facilities. That's after the state moved to cut the organization's Medicaid funding, despite having found nothing yet in its investigation.
There hasn't been a peep out of Arizona if it's found anything, and as for Ohio? As of October 1 the local media was questioning whether there was ever going to be an announcement of findings. So far, nada. That hasn't stopped the state Senate from passing a defunding bill.
So far that makes zero states finding anything wrong with Planned Parenthood, and a bunch of Republican lawmakers trying to take away funding regardless.
