GOP Wyoming Rep. and “Freedom Caucus” member Cynthia Lummis has said that she won’t be seeking re-election, which leaves a new opening for Liz Cheney to snag the state’s sole congressional seat. Not that she's been all that concerned in the past about waiting for her fellow Republicans to actually leave office.
Cheney and her family have been living in Jackson Hole, an expensive resort community in northwest Wyoming, since 2012.
"I am taking a serious look at running and will be discussing this with my family and others around the state as I make my decision in the coming weeks," Cheney said by email.
Lummis made her formal announcement Thursday afternoon at the state capitol. "I came to Washington to be a reformer, not a career congressman," Lummis, 61, said.
Another Cheney run = fun! Maybe the whole family can break out in another bar room brawl over who supports same-sex marriage and who doesn't. Perfect for a Thanksgiving weekend!
