Get out your bibs and plastic utensils, boys--you're not eating with the grown ups
One is from the Bible Belt, one is from New Jersey, but they have something in common: They now play for the JV team.
In what had to be a humiliating demotion, both Mike Huckabee and Chris Christie didn't poll well enough to stay on the main stage of the fourth Republican debate next Tuesday in Milwaukee.
Neither man got at least 2.5 per cent in the latest four polls, according to Fox News, so they will be sharing air time with the likes of Bobby Jindal.
But at least they didn't fare as badly as Lindsey Graham, George Pataki and Jim Gilmore, who were forced out of the debates completely. Those three men fell below the Mendoza line for debate participation, a paltry 1 per cent.
Huckabee had no immediate comment on the demotion. Christie put on a brave front, assuring everyone that he would show up to talk about "real issues"--which, presumably, doesn't mean the joy of debating with Rick Santorum.
So for one more debate we won't have the possibility of Christie screaming at Trump to "Shut up! Shut up!"
