After all the drama following Tuesday's debate and whether or not Ted Cruz leaked classified intelligence information in it, the drama has fizzled.
The leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee said Wednesday that they are not investigating whether Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) discussed classified information during Tuesday's presidential debate.
"The Committee is not investigating anything said during last night’s Republican Presidential debate," Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the top two members of the panel, said in a statement.
It's quite possible that, even though his fellow senators would love nothing more than to investigate the loathsome Cruz, they couldn't really investigate Cruz for something that Marco Rubio—who is actually on the Intelligence Committee—had already done. In fact, Rubio is something of a serial leaker of classified information, which is kind of inconvenient for the Committee.
However much they may hate Cruz, they can't really go after him now and let Rubio off the hook. There's also that little problem of committee chairman Burr basically confirming the supposed big secret Cruz let out of the bag.
