Starting February 1st we will be publishing the MNCC on the first Monday of every month rather than weekly. Recovery has many phases and changes for each person. Our group seems to as well.
Right now we lack readers and writers which could indicate a lessening of need for support right now. This happens. Could even be a good thing. People moving on without the need to talk about cancer quite so much, not needing resources, etc.
Maybe less people are even getting cancer, wouldn’t that be great????
Now, we don’t want to miss anyone or leave anyone out so if there is a burning need to write something just let Kate or I know and we will set it to publish around 7 pm Monday Nights.
If you’d like to write something for the first Monday of a month let us know and we’ll sign you up.

Plus, we are here all the time. The MNCC archives are extensive and full of a lot of good info as well as comfort and humour.
For myself at any rate, I check in at least once a day, so if anyone needs a listening ear, an idea or some type of support feel free to Kosmail me. I am also available for phone calls and emails. I’m not promising that I can help in any way but I’ve found it’s often a comfort to have someone else around when you try to figure out how to do something.
If anyone else is available to listen and support other members please put that in the comments. It’s been my experience that MNCC members are very supportive and generous with their time.
So carry on, and guess what? The first Monday in February is next week. Not so long to wait now is it? As always this is also an open thread so anything goes. Go ahead tell us how much snow you got this week.
Monday Night Cancer Club is a Daily Kos group for anyone who has cancer, has a loved one with cancer, or who has questions, issues, or information to share about cancer, including clinicians, researchers, or others who have a special interest and can help to educate our readers. We have many different members who fit all these categories, sometimes more than one at a time. Please share if you can, or just listen; there is plenty to learn just from reading our extensive catalogue of past diaries and postings. All are welcome to use this group as a resource. Volunteer diarists post Monday evenings between 7:30-8:30 PM ET on topics related to living with cancer, which is very broadly defined to cover physical, spiritual, emotional and cognitive aspects. While most diaries focus on a specific topic or area relevant to cancer, each diary is also an Open Thread for sharing concerns, announcements, and information. Mindful of the controversies endemic to cancer prevention and treatment, we ask that both diarists and commenters keep an open mind regarding strategies for surviving cancer, whether based in traditional, Eastern, Western, allopathic or other medical practices. This is a club no one wants to join, in truth, and compassion will help us make it through the challenge together.
Glen Hansard being funny (“the most brilliant people to talk to are always a bit unhinged”) and singing great as always. This song reminds me of dealing with cancer…...“Face into the truth”.
