NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY WINNERS:
Bernie Sanders (D) and Donald Trump (R)
There was record-breaking turnout at the polls, and New Hampshire has spoken. Establishment politicians, and Citizens United billionaires have been rejected by the people of the Granite State.
Here are some excerpts from Bernie Sanders’ Victory Speech:
“What the people here have said, is that given the enormous crises facing our country, it is just too late for the same old, same old establishment politics, and establishment economics. The people want real change.”
“And, by the way, I hear this not just from Progressives, but from Conservatives, and from Moderates, is that we can no longer continue to have a campaign finance system in which Wall Street, and the Billionaire Class are able to buy elections.”
“I do not have a SuperPAC, and I do not want a SuperPAC!”
“I am overwhelmed, and I am deeply moved, far more than I can express in words, by the fact that our campaign’s financial support comes from more than 1 million Americans, who have made more than 3.7 million individual contributions. That is more individual contributions than any candidate in the history of the United States, up until this point in an election. And you know what that average contribution was? $27.00!”
”I am going to New York City tonight and tomorrow, but I’m not going to New York City to hold a fundraiser on Wall Street. Instead I am going to hold a fundraiser right here, right now, across America.”
“My request is, Please go to BernieSandersDotCom, and contribute. Please help us raise the funds we need, whether it’s $10 bucks, or $20 bucks, or $50 bucks. Help us raise the money we need to take the fight to Nevada, South Carolina and the states on Super Tuesday!”
“So there it is. That’s our fundraiser! Pretty quick!”
1) Cannabis Legalization has made it onto the ballot in Maine.
2) The original title of "Citizen Kane" was "The American".
3) A dog-sized pig showed up at one of the polling stations in New Hampshire today. Sorry, snout nose - only donkeys and elephants allowed here!!
In 2010 one could carry a gun into a bar in four states. Today, one can legally carry a loaded gun in places that serve alcohol in 49 out of 50 states.
[I tried to find which state is the odd man out, but I couldn't find it. It was not included in the article by Everytown! I welcome any of you to try and find out!]
Hundreds of Inmates at Genesee County jail, in Flint, Michigan were forced to drink the lead poisoned water. After the new Mayor, Karen Weaver declared a State of Emergency, the prisoners were briefly given bottled water
But then, five days later, they were switched back to Flint River water, after the authorities ran some tests and the Sheriff announced that it had been declared safe.
Finally, last Friday the jail switched back to bottled water.
6) In a move that one can only assume is an attempt to snag a position in the Clinton Cabinet for his boss, Martin O'Malley's New Hampshire Campaign Co-Chair, Peter Hoe Burling, endorsed Hillary Clinton.
7) New evidence of Paleolithic eating habits indicates that they did not just eat vegetables, as had been a previous thought. Tortoise shell remains were found that show that they roasted tortoises, as well as deer and other animals.
8) This is New Hampshire's first year with mandatory voter ID. Voters could sign an affidavit, though, if they didn't have an ID with them. This is out and out voter suppression.
Many voters may not have even gone to the polls, if they didn't know that they could sign an affidavit right there. At least they still have same day Voter Registration.
9) The ruins of Ancient Troy are in modern day Turkey.
After 12 years as a Daily Show correspondent, Samantha Bee became the only woman in late-night. Full Frontal premiered last night and proudly flashed its hilarious lady balls.
"In recent weeks, the Sanders campaign has been touting endorsements from key African-American leaders—including Ohio State Sen. Nina Turner, ex-NAACP president Ben Jealous and rapper Killer Mike, who has become one of his strongest surrogates with young black voters.
Meanwhile, Clinton has rolled out an impressive list of prominent black pastors—all of whom are veterans of the Obama coalition and have a demonstrated record of turning out votes come Election Day.
Clinton has a comfortable lead among black voters in South Carolina, where, according to recent polls, she commands four out of every five votes. (Notably, she will pre-tape an interview with Sharpton tomorrow that will air on MSNBC this weekend.)
However, by meeting with Sharpton at Sylvia’s Restaurant—the very place then-Sen. Barack Obama sat down with the preacher in 2008—Sanders is sending a message to Clinton forces: Don’t sleep.
An endorsement from Sharpton is not imminent. But he told The Daily Beast that candidates are mistaken if they believe they can sew up the nomination without reaching out to black voters of every age. That means connecting with young social justice activists across the country as well as civil rights leaders, he said."
[Meanwhile, word's out that Sanders has more of a ground game than Clinton in Nevada, and that Clinton is already tamping down expectations.]
Japanese authorities deported dolphin activist Ric O’Barry after detaining him for 19 days at Tokyo’s airport.
Dolphin trainer turned animal-rights activist Ric O’Barry has spent the past 13 years working to expose Japan’s dolphin hunts, and now the country has sent him packing.
Japanese officials on Friday put the star of the 2009 Oscar-winning documentary The Cove on a plane at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport bound for the United States. Immigration officials barred O’Barry, 76, from entering the country on his arrival in Tokyo on Jan. 18 and held him in a detention facilityfor 19 days.
His son, Lincoln O’Barry, said the deportation is a desperate attempt by the Japanese government to hide the ongoing dolphin drive and slaughter in Taiji. Each year, thousands of dolphins are herded by fishing boats into a cove at Taiji, where they are killed for their meat or captured for sale to aquariums and marine parks.
“They’ve failed miserably, and all they’re really doing is bringing more attention to the issue,” Lincoln O’Barry said. He said the official reason his father was deported, according to Japanese immigration, was that he supposedly lied about his itinerary on a trip to the country this past summer and wasn’t in the country as a “tourist.”
“They know all about my father, so every time he comes into the country he gets interrogated for about one to five hours, about where he is going, how long, and why,” he said. “They don’t do that with any other Americans coming into the country.”
“He was deported because the Taiji dolphin slaughter is a huge international embarrassment to Japan, and Ric is the most vocal protester,” Psihoyos said. “He didn’t violate any Japanese laws, but he brings worldwide attention to one of the most brutal animal atrocities in the world.

*NOTE* - Please understand that I do not claim to be a “journalist”. I am only passing on bits of information, which others have researched, that drift through my awareness, on any given day. I watch, read and listen to any number of different news and entertainment sources, and it’s more than anyone could possibly intake and retain in a day, so I created this little daily “cheat sheet” for myself, so that I could remember all these oddball facts. Then I decided to share these tidbits, and thus was born the Daily TILT. I do this for fun. I hope you enjoy it.

**NOTE: I purposely do not include links or photos in the TILT. The idea is to not have one story be highlighted above all the others. And sometimes links can be stressful. I, myself, sometimes get conflicted when presented with too many choices, so I thought I'd save you the trouble of having to make any of those types of decisions for a few minutes, while you read the Photo and Link-Free TILT!
I encourage you to further research any story that interests you, though. They are easy to Google.
