PROGRESSIVE ATTORNEY JESSE SBAIH FILES FOR CD-3
Sbaih bids to be the first immigrant elected to US Congress in Nevada's History
Jesse Sbaih, a Henderson attorney, formally filed his historic candidacy to represent Nevada's 3rd Congressional District Friday morning.
Jesse was joined by dozens of family, friends, and supporters during the filing. The candidate pledged to be a progressive warrior for and with the people. He vowed to raise wages, tackle out-of-control tuition increases, and prevent more jobs from being outsourced out of the district.
In his endorsement of Sbaih, former Nevada Democratic Party Chair Tick Segerblom said, "Jesse just gets it. He's the only candidate talking about the issues facing our community like providing our kids a first-class education, ensuring universal healthcare coverage as a right, raising the minimum wage to lift up the 64,000 people in CD-3 living below the poverty line, and fighting to ensure than an entire generation will not be buried by student debt."
The well-known Progressive, Segerblom, went on to commend Jesse saying, "unlike most politicians, he actually has a plan to fix the problems he talks about and that is why Jesse is the Progressives only real chance to win in Congressional District 3."
Jesse thanked the supporters at the event. In a short statement to supporters, he said is blessed to have the support of two amazing parents who came to America when he was only 11 years old with the hopes of giving him a better chance, a loving wife who herself commands a challenging career as a medical doctor, and the three cutest kids in the world.
Jesse is not the anointed establishment candidate in this race owned by lobbyists, special interests, and their SuperPAC. As an 12 years old immigrant, Jesse worked as a dishwasher at an Italian restaurant to help provide for his family and he understands the challenges that the working men and women of this district face. He is beholden to the people in our community, not establishment elites.
