There has been some back and forth this morning about an interview Bernie did yesterday on TV in Arizona. The reporter was mid-question when Bernie declared the interview over, thanked the reporter, got up and pulled off his mike. Only a short teaser segment was included but the entire 4+ minutes is actually available here at the station's website.
The interview starts off fine with Bernie talking about Wall Street but then the reporter gets into more pointed questions, first about his gun vote and then about the Minutemen bill. That latter gets a bit under his collar. The next question is about Jane’s tent city visit. This time he wouldn’t even let the reporter ask his question, instead interrupting and saying “let me just tell you something...” and then went on to state that Arpaio was wrong to crash Jane’s and then delivered a short stump speech. The reporter never got to ask his tent city question and at the end of Bernie’s speech, Bernie thanked the interviewer and started to stand as the reporter tried to ask about the VP slot.
I think Bernie was a bit prickly but probably gets tired of being badgered with these sorts of questions. Unfortunately, it made him look a bit cranky and the TV station is playing up the “walking out of the interview” for its own benefit.
