We’re gathering this morning at the same time as Tricia’s Memorial Service in Raleigh. Her favourite flowers were orange ones, which is so appropriate for her time here at Daily Kos! Some of us have chosen orange flowers as our avatars for today. Some of us have kept pooties, in her honour.
Tricia was our Pootie Queen. She started the PWB Peeps group and kept it going when everyone and their cousin had something snarky to say about “cute animals don’t belong on a political site.”
She never paid the slightest attention, and kept on going. She fought tooth and nail for our group, until she even converted Markos, himself! And Lo and Behold!!! Look how many people have come to love and appreciate this little corner of the community for its traditions of loving kindness, for the daily dose of cute and furry. We laugh together and cry together; we celebrate when one of us gets a new furbaby and we grieve together when one crosses The Rainbow Bridge.
Tricia built this. And she did it with great love and humour and heart.
So, I ask that we all celebrate her today. We will miss her, always. The greatest honour we can pay her is to keep her legacy alive and vibrant by doing all that she did.
Please feel free to tell your Tricia Tales in the comments. Post pics. Share music. Above all, be joyful that this very special woman gave us such a wonderful gift!
My love to all Da Pootie Peeps,

This is beautiful! As soon as I joined, it started pouring rain. I'd like to think they're happy tears from my mother. She would love these diaries!
I'd like to think she's watching over all the pooties and woozles who have left us. She is truly an amazing woman. A true Queen. And I will miss her so much.
