Bernie Sanders senior campaign staff members need to resign, especially his campaign manager Jeff Weaver.
I was stunned yesterday to watch this guy go on TV and proclaim he believed Bernie still had a shot at winning Arizona, or come close to a tie while the results coming in clearer showed Bernie losing by about twenty points. His exact words were “There’s obviously something wrong with the numbers”. It was nothing shot of witnessing a delusion rivaling that of Karl Rove in 2012, when he proclaimed Romney could still win Ohio when the results proved otherwise.
I’m calling on Weaver to resign, and probably Tad Devine because I think this guys have badly served senator Sanders. They are grifters in my own opinion, telling the senator things that are simply not true to keep the coffers of campaign cash rolling in. How else does one explain why Sanders constantly says he’ll win states he continuously loses badly?
These guys are probably so delusional, they are creating wild election projections about their chances that are not based in reality. There’s a reason why many Sanders supporters continue to buy into the falsehood that just winning California, or New York will magically turn around Bernie’s fortunes — because guys like Weaver and Devine have said something similar. Things that are simply just not facts.
This is like when Ben Carson’s team kept saying the campaign had only began, when he kept getting routed in state after state. Now Bernie has won some states and has every right to keep running, but when you have a campaign team this deluded, there’s a reason he’s destined to lose.
