We need revolution in this country, however, whether it is peaceful or extremely violent, well that's going to depend on a lawless and out of control government. The most important reason we need a political revolution is this country is simply because the words etched in granite above the supreme court, Equal Justice Under Law, has become a complete joke, and our population is finally coming to terms with this sad fact of reality, that equal justice under law does not exist.
This has happened over a long period of time but, in my view, it started with the end of WWII. First and fore most, many of the bombing campaigns carried out by allied forces were war crimes. Dropping the atom bomb on Japan twice, were war crimes, plain and simple, at least according to the Nuremberg tribunal set up by the allies that was used to try and convict the Nazi war criminals, but were never applied to the Allies. Which, if one is a law and order kind of individual, would be the ultimate in hypocrisy, no?
Ever since WWII, congress has abdicated their responsibility to declare war, which has lead to an executive branch that now deems the executive branch, alone, can determine when and how to kill anyone on this planet, without due process and in complete violation to our constitution and international law. Kill list Tuesdays anyone?
We invaded another country that did not attack us nor threaten our country. This was in complete violation of our constitution, as well as international law. We killed hundreds of thousands of innocent women, children and men. None of them had to die. None! The Iraq war, both of them, were major crimes against humanity. But America, is the exceptional country, we do not have to abide by our constitution nor any international laws, we make our reality, we are an empire now. Laws, I don't need no stinking laws. Heck the constitution, it's only a piece of paper that has lost all meaning. It's something for us little people to cling to, but when it comes to our government or multi-national corporations, or the very rich and powerful, then our laws and constitution do not apply.
Our current president has admitted “we tortured some folks”, but not one person has been prosecuted for these crimes, except, except, the very person that blew the whistle on the crimes being committed. How can one have faith in our system of justice when justice does not exist? When a white guys shows up with a loaded Ar-15, federal agents give a wide berth, but when a black child has a toy gun, police officers killed that child within two seconds. Equal Justice Under the Law is now where to be found.
Former president Bush and his top administration officials, violated the LAW, but our current president wanted the country to look forward, not back. But not looking back has covered up those crimes and has allowed the worst crimes in recent history to go unpunished. Equal justice under the law does not exist.
Our current president drone murdered an American citizen without due process and in complete violation of international law. And then, our president turns around and drone murders a 16 year old boy, another American citizen. According to the NDAA, anyone, even American citizens can be rounded up, by our military on civilian soil, put in jail and detained indefinitely, without charge, without due process and without representation, and all the while the government can use secret evidence, that you will NEVER get to see. They don't even have to tell anyone they have you in detention. Equal justice under the law does not exist.
Think about this, back in the 80's, during the Savings and Loan crisis, our government, using existing laws, made over 30,000 criminal referrals and had over 1000 felony convictions, the largest white collar criminal prosecution in our entire, if not world, history. But the most recent financial crisis, caused by the felony fraud committed by the top Wall Street banks,, and not one criminal referral has been forth coming against any of the top wall street executives, which it turns out were the very regulators how were charged with regulating our financial markets. The ultimate in the fox guarding the hen house. Equal Justice Under Law does not exist.
How many times have government officials lied under oath during congressional testimony, like the head of the NAS? How many times have top officials illegally released classified information and only received a slap on the wrist, while whistle blowers, exposing major crimes committed by our government are prosecuted and sent to jail. How can anyone have faith in a government that routinely prosecutes those that expose crimes but either covers up the real criminals or just ignore their crimes all together, and make up some bullshit excuse, it would crash our economy or we need to look forward not back. Pa-lease!
When we protest these crimes, we are brutally suppressed by our so called law enforcement, which is in complete violation of our constitution. The lame ass excuse to round up, brutalize and arrest peaceful protestors is blatantly absurd, and in violation of our constitution. Our law enforcement uses chemical agents on our own citizens that are banned in our theater's of war we are engaged in right now.
The brutality that has been unleashed and inflicted on our population is exposed in the huge numbers of low level criminals over crowding our prison industrial complex, that makes a profit from imprisoning our population, for petty shit compared to gross violations of our constitution and international law perpetrated by our own government and top elected and appointed officials.
The EXTREME amount of hypocrisy, combined with a brutal police force and their oppression of the people, combined with a very long track record of ignoring the constitution and international law, has produced in our civilian population with a massive level of a combination of Stockholm Syndrome and cognitive dissonance, that is tremendously difficult to counter, especially with a willing and compliant media ready to attack anyone that challenges the status quo.
This is the ugly reality we truly are facing today, simply because those immortal words etched in stone, Equal Justice Under Law, is a fucking joke. How long are we supposed to tolerate an out of control and lawless government ?
Most importantly, as President Kennedy said ”Those that make peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent revolution inevitable”.
