I read a few more “green” reports today and stopped to take stock of myself. Normally my immediate impulse would be to write something calling for more immediate action in the rapidly accelerating crisis the human species faces because of its own stupidity. It’s funny how the mind works because I had suppressed the way I have come to feel about the situation.
Lots of folk here won’t like my reasons for being in this funk but those of you who know me know that I have to say what is on my mind once I work it all out.
Since this site is somewhat like the MSM in that it has an owner who sets the tone, I have been less inclined to speak my mind here. I don’t like to offend people just for the sake of offending them but am often accused of that if I am merely honest about what I think. Often I am criticized for think my ideas might have some value by those who refuse to consider them.
So a lot became clear as I did my self analysis today. I do not believe anyone who opposes Bernie is really going to read a green diary and get what it is saying. They may pay lip service but how can you oppose the only candidate who is speaking the truth about green issues?
Naomi Klein wrote a book that echos a lot of what my book with Jim Coffman says. We are kindred spirits for that reason. Here’s what she says:
The Problem With Hillary Clinton Isn’t Just Her Corporate Cash. It’s Her Corporate Worldview.
That nails it pretty well. I’ll stick my neck out a bit further and assert that it is not just Hillary but it is her supporters. I’ve written many diaries here about this difference of worldview and also pointed out that those with the corporate worldview are in denial.
I don’t have to say more. Those who do not share that worldview see me as preaching to the choir. The others will once more be ruled by cognitive dissonance and denial.
I still believe you do not need a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing. Today I can add that if you are an Inuit you don’t need scientists to tell that the Earth’s axis is shifting.
