Five courageous individuals are on hunger strike in the Mission District of San Francisco until the SFPD Police Chief resigns or is fired by Mayor Ed Lee. They protest the twenty-one extrajudicial executions SFPD has undertaken since Suhr became chief, and the racist underpinnings of the department as manifested by the continuing scandal with racist and homophobic text messages exchanged among officers.
This is the thirteenth day of the hunger strike, and supporters will gather at 12:30 PM at 17th & Valencia to march to City Hall.
Shawn King devoted his twitter account yesterday to these brave individuals. A few of those tweets are shown below.

We have decided to lay down our bodies for the love of our community and in solidarity with our fallen brothers. If there is any humanity left in you then you will hear our cry and do what is right. If you are not willing to do the right thing, then you must resign.
Our lives are in your hands...
