Things have gotten so surreal at this point that I’m seriously thinking of upgrading my campaign from County Commissioner to an indy bid for President.
How’s this for a campaign slogan:
“Vote Gaba 2016: Because Why The Hell Not?”
On a more serious note: It's been said by more than one political analyst that endorsements don't mean much, and perhaps that's true. As a Democratic candidate, I suppose it's not exactly big news to receive endorsements from fellow Democratics.
Even so, I'm deeply honored to have the endorsements of a number of local elected officials (and one former official).
In related news, campaign business cards are on order (union made, of course), I’m finally putting together my official campaign kick-off event the first week of June, and I attended an excellent presentation by Donigan (currently of ACT (A Coalition for Transit)) regarding the upcoming Regional Transit Authority plan for Southeast Michigan.
Interestingly, the incumbent commissioner is opposed to the RTA plan, while her primary opponent sits on the RTA board of directors.
I support the plan in principle, although it obviously depends on the details of the proposal itself, which is expected to be released at the end of the month.
Don’t forget to show some love to our own Angela Marx, running for Congress in WA-03!
