Received this misleading email today, sent out by democratic governors.gov. It seems that they believe the Democratic Presidential nominating convention has been completed resulting in the coronation of Hillary Clinton as Team Blue’s representative in November’s election. How’s that for impartial? Perhaps the hacks at DGA know something we mere mortals don’t. But it seems to me, and millions of other “uninformed” voters that Bernie Sanders is going to the convention to fight for his opportunity to represent Team Blue himself.
But are we mistaken? Do the puppet masters at DGA have things so under their control that the outcome of the nominating convention is a sure thing?
If the “Democratic” governors of America were truly concerned about the future of the Democratic party, they should perhaps attend to one of the recent polls comparing Clinton vs. Trump to Sanders vs. Trump. Note that the disparity between HRC’s support and Trump’s support has been progressively weakening. Although Sanders is not faring quite as well now as he did earlier, his polling margin against Trump remains consistently better than HRC’s. And Trump hasn’t really started going negative against Hillary (as I am sure he will also do against Bernie, if he is our nominee).
So if the aim is to preserve the Democratic Party, retain control of the White House, restore a progressive agenda to Team Blue, then it makes much more sense to back Bernie.
On the other hand continue with HRC is like booking a cabin on the Titanic’s maiden voyage: you may not know it but there is trouble dead ahead.
Disclosure: I’m all in for Bernie.
No Hillaryites were harmed in the production of this diary.
