On Tuesday evening, ABC News reported that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has no intentions of backing down in the case against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over over the alleged Trump University fraud. In fact, AG Schneiderman is “ready to go.”
“We sued him long before anyone thought he might run for President. This is not a political case, it's just a straight-up fraud case.”
Recently the court released documents that show the misleading sales pitch made to prospective students who were desperate to make money during tough financial times. The case resurfaced last week when United States District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel in California stated that the documents needed to be made public given Trumps Republican presidential nomination.
Meanwhile Trump continues to slam Curiel:
“I think Judge Curiel should be ashamed of himself,” Trump said. “I’m telling you, this court system, judges in this court system, federal court, they ought to look into Judge Curiel. Because what Judge Curiel is doing is a total disgrace.”
It will be interesting to see if Trump can lie and bully his way out of this one. The fact that he’s dealing with a federal judge and attorney general, it seems doubtful. But then, if a buffoon like Trump can win the GOP nomination for president, almost anything us possible during this election year.
